The pre-qualifying session proved to be significantly faster than the morning’s free practice, with a best lap of 2:01.811 from Enrique Bernoldi. His Sangari Team Brazil Corvette was three tenths faster than the nr 4 Pekaracing Corvette, with Thomas Biagi , in the nr 19 Luc Alphand Corvette third, proving the speed of the Corvette cars around this circuit.
Biagi led the times for much of the session, before a flurry of improvements towards the end of the 80 minutes. With SRT making it a Corvette quartet, despite a puncture, the three American cars were followed by the three Maserati cars, the heaviest being the fastest.
In GT2, the Porsche cars led the way in the afternoon, with the nr 97 Brixia Racing Porsche of Lucchini and Ragginger setting the pace, with a lap of 2:08.794. The nr 55 CRS Racing Ferrari of Niarchos and Mullen was second, with Sascha Maassen and David Ashburn placing the nr 59 Trackspeed Porsche third.
