All the way??? BMW (2 or 3 cars) and Corvette (2 cars) will be added to the already established Porsche and Ferrari teams at lemans. They could go all the way but it’s a long shot.

Anyway, I’d like to see this one go all the way. I worry it won’t, but hell, guys, go sign Fred Mackowiecki? He is blindingly fast in Hexis’ FIA version!

I think JMW is a Dunlop team. They’re not contracted by Ferrari, rather by Dunlop. They were a DUNLOP works team, not ferrari. I don’t think the crew and drivers wear the ferrari patch on their uniforms.

But apparently Dunlop poured in enough cash to make sure they bought all the updates and kits needed to be competitive.

Now it’s an all british team: british car, british tires, british lead driver (rob bell). They might even look for british second and 3rd drivers.

@HD: I think that rick was merely talking about how globally (therefore GT in the ALMS) is going to be spectacular. He wasn’t saying anything about using the term “GT” instead of “GT2″. Why such hostility?

@ Rodger Davies: I don’t think that budget was a real draw back with JMW vs. Risi and AF Corse (and Advanced Engineering). However, they were always a top team, I think the step down from Aston to Ferrari may be an issue. While I imagine the switch to the Aston is going to take JMW out of the “favorites” category, it will be interesting to see what they can do with the car.

Great news, I honestly thought that Aston were going to let this car fade away and concentrate on the others but it would seem there’s more interest than ever so hats off to them.

As risk, maybe, but this may be JMW’s best shot at winning Le Mans, seeing as they were never going to be one of the biggest-budget Ferrari teams.

Aston Martin is re-investing itself in GT racing. First the new DBR9 teams and now a top GT2 team. They didn’t want to be left behind when they realized BMW, Ferrari, Corvette and Porsche are well represented in GT2.

Hopefully Pratt and Miller conforms the GT1 car to the new GT1 rules in the FIA.

JMW to Aston Martin so no more Gimmi Bruni for them with Rob Bell, a nice move, enough from Porsche vs. Ferrari, plus the Vantage GT2 show great things when Hexis Racing AMR engaged it in this year FIA GT !
