After a week in which Beechdean Mansell Motorsport, REBELLION Racing, AutoCon Motorsports revealed (more) of its plans there was more news from teams and organisers worldwide. Here are some briefs of the first two weeks of January.

G.A.C. Racing Team will not return this season. Claude-Yves Gosselin and Karim Ojjeh have stopped their cooperation, but the Zytek 07S will be racing in the Le Mans Series. Ojjeh has teamed up with Tim and Jacob Greaves. As a result Team Bruichladdich will run the Zytek in 2010, with Karim Ojjeh and Tim Greaves racing the car and Jacob Greaves becoming the team manager.

Last week Pegasus Racing confirmed it will continue in the Le Mans Series in 2010. The team will enter a Norma M200 Judd in LMP2, as well as the Courage-Oreca LC75 it entered back in 2009. Julien Schell, Philippe Thirion and Jean-Christophe Metz are certain of a race seat, with other drivers still to be confirmed.

AUTOhebdo today announced that Luc Alphand Aventures will take up its automatic entries for Le Mans and is planning to enter Le Mans with the Corvette C6.R. No decision has been made about the Le Mans Series. With one car being written off in 2009 the question remains which second car will be used by the French squad.

Young Driver AMR will have a top-level lineup in the 2010 FIA GT1 World Championship. Team manager Erhard Fischer confirmed that Darren Turner and Stefan Mücke will be sharing one Aston Martin DBR9. The lineup for the second car is not fully confirmed yet, but Fischer was able to say that Tomas Enge could well join Christoffer Nygaard. Fischer is also looking at a Le Mans participation.

In the newly formed LMP Challenge class of the American Le Mans Series Intersport Racing has announced it has signed of Brian Wong for the 2010 season. Wong, who finished second in the 2009 IMSA Patron GT3 Challenge, will race together with the already confirmed Mitch Pagerey.

The LMPC will also see O’Connell Racing joining the class with one FLM09. The Californian team will compete in selected events in the 2010 season, with Nikolas Konstant driving the car.

Staying in California: Team Falken Tire took delivery of its 2010-spec Porsche 997 GT3 RSR. The team will enter its car in the American Le Mans Series GT class, with drivers to be confirmed at a later date.

Meanwhile tickets for the 2010 Le Mans Series Official Test Days and the opening race of the season at the Paul Ricard HTTT circuit are now on sale. Access on March 7th will cost € 10, while a ticket for the race weekend costs € 30. This ticket will also give you access to the Test Day on March 7th. More info on the tickets can be found at www.circuitpaulricard.com or at www.lemans-series.com.

  1. No worries about the second alphand GT1 car. If Aston Martin is going to lemans in GT1, corvette can supply him or repair the broken car. Those guys can fix anything.

He might finally have all the latest performance kits. Corvette never gave them all the performance upgrades at lemans. But since they will be in GT2 now they might just decide do let Luc alphand take up the mantle. Especially if the maseratis do show up.

  2. Falken should reduce their car drifting program and spend some cash on the ALMS entry. Spend the cash where the customers with the cash are.

They should take a look at dunlop and hankook and think that could be them. But they will need top shelf drivers (and all the car’s performance upgrades)to do anything with those tires in the ALMS.
