Pierre Ehret joins AutoCon Motorsports

AutoCon Motorsports announced today the signing of GT veteran Pierre Ehret to co-drive the AutoCon Lola B06/10 at the three 2010 ALMS enduro events (Sebring, Laguna, Petit). Support is provided by the Flamingo Resort Hotel and Ehret Family Winery.

Ehret is a frequent competitor in the ALMS with his last foray into the series netting him a GT2 podium finish at the Laguna in the 2009 finale.
Meanwhile in the LMS GT2 category where he runs fulltime he was a frequent visitor to the podium and finished the season ranked 4th in the drivers championship.

“Pierre is quick and consistently gets the maximum out of the car while still bringing it home” observed AutoCon Principal Michael Lewis. “This is exactly the type of driver you want at Sebring , Petit and Laguna and we are looking forward to see what he can do. He does have a bit of prototype experience but it’s been awhile and I know he’s looking forward to the challenge. We’ll give him a familiarization run out west and then it’s off to Sebring to throw him in the deep end!”

For his part Pierre is looking forward to running in the ALMS’s premier class. The car will be new to him but he is very familiar with the circuits. “It will be a real change driving out the front of the car instead of looking for prototypes in the mirror all day” noted a smiling Pierre. “I hope we can do something special with AutoCon starting at Sebring. I really enjoy the GT2 class but wanted to experience a prototype, so when this opportunity came up it was perfect”
