Autorlando Sport will once again take part in the International GT Open championship. The Italian team, which won the 2009 Super GT Team championship, will return to the championship with its two Porsche 997 GT3 RSRs but has also decided to enter a brand new Porsche 997 GT3 R in the GTS class.
While the team confirmed the entry of three cars into the championship only Richard Lietz and Gianluca Roda were confirmed as drivers. The Austrian and Italian will be sharing the cockpit of the team’s lead car once more. In 2008 and 2009 Lietz and Roda took second place in the championship.
The driver line-up for the second Porsche 997 GT3 RSR as well as the Porsche 997 GT3 R will be announced at later day.
I never liked GT Open, it hurted FIA GT and the Le Mans Series too much, and for sure this series will kill the SRO European GT2 Championship…
@ SUBARU WRX. I’m glad we’ve got the same idea about GT Open. In fact, Pareja has never started something really new. No, all his championships are spinn-offs of the real thing. On the other hand, he is not there yet, he doesn’t have that amount of entries in comparison with the SRO-championships. Ratel always said GT2 would be the most difficult, but he still has got two months left, i’m not depressed yet concerning SRO’s European GT2. Fingers Crossed.
