Extreme Speed and CytoSport driver update

More and more details on the driver squads for next month’s 58th running of the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring presented by Fresh from Florida are getting known. Today Extreme Speed Motorsports and Muscle Milk Team CytoSport announced the drivers that will strengthen the two teams for the American Le Mans Series season opener on March 20th.

Extreme Speed Motorsports, Scott Sharp’s new GT team, today announced that Joao Barbosa and Dominik Farnbacher will join the team in Florida, as well as Petit Le Mans later this season.

Joao Barbosa, who won the Rolex 24 at Daytona last month, will join Ed Brown and Guy Cosmo in the #02 Extreme Speed Motorsports Ferrari F430 GT2. Dominik Farnbacher will join Scott Sharp and Johannes van Overbeek in the #01 car. Farnbacher won four ALMS races in a Ferrari F430 GT.

“I’m thrilled to welcome Joao and Dominik to the Extreme Speed Motorsports team,” said Scott Sharp. “Both of them are experienced and fast drivers, and know what it takes to navigate the track and get to the end of a major endurance race.”

Meanwhile Muscle Milk Team CytoSport announced that Greg Pickett and Klaus Graf will be joined by Sascha Maassen again for the major endurance races (Sebring, Laguna Seca and Petit Le Mans).

Maassen already raced the Porsche RS Spyder together with Picket and Graf in 2009 and took a podium finish at Petit Le Mans. Maassen will also join the team at the ALMS Sebring Winter Test next week.

“I’m very excited to be returning to Team CytoSport and to once again be able to drive the Muscle Milk Porsche RS Spyder,” said Maassen.

“He’s a great teammate, and a fantastic driver who has driven many, many miles aboard a Porsche RS Spyder. He knows this car inside and out and his knowledge of it is always an asset to our team. We look forward to having him behind the wheel of our Muscle Milk Porsche RS Spyder next week at the test as well as at the three longest races of the season,” said team owner and co-driver Greg Pickett.
