Corvette Racing Video Series: Episode 2

Here’s Episode 2 of the Corvette Racing Video Series. In this episode, the team begins the ALMS season at the 12 Hours of Sebring. On a track known for its high speeds, changing surfaces and a total of 17 turns, the Corvette Racing team began the race weekend “living the dream.” As you already know, an unfortunate miscommunication brings both Corvettes to collide in pit row, ending their chances for a win to start the season. The episode features exclusive post-collision interviews from the Corvette crew chief, Dan Binks, team owner Gary Pratt and program director, Doug Fehan and a new exclusive angle of the crash not yet released.

This is just the second video in a season-long series on the Corvette racing team and we look forward to sharing future episodes.

  1. Goose Bumps moment. That’s a really honest outfit. It shows character when a team makes a video like this one.

  3. Risi owes them one. The Maserati MC12s were originally supposed to be ran by Risi in the ALMS, but Corvette was too dominant. So the car was redesigned and ferrari pegged Vitaphone to run the cars in FIA GT instead.

  4. Bamba, you couldnt be more wrong. Maserati was handicapped by IMSA as Corvette complained they were seen as against the regulations (aka too fast for corvette to handle) and they were severely penalized during the season. Risi only used that season as a waiting period until the F430 GT2 was available to race.

  5. They are still against the regulations. But the car was redesigned during that season, and they still couldn’t handle Corvette.

Risi wasn’t waiting for the 430 they had full factory support with the MC12.

They were handicapped somewhat, but it’s actually ferrari’s fault because the regs were the same and had been consistent. That was an attempt to cheat.

Ferrari would have preferred the MC12 to race in the US. As we can all see the maserati program’s budget is overgrown for the FIA GT, they had envisioned racing against full factory teams.
