Motors TV, the pan-European motorsports-specialized channel, will considerably increase its coverage of the International GT Open in 2010. The channel will offer four events live, including the season-opener in Valencia and the decisive two last rounds in Monza and Barcelona, on top of its usual one-hour long highlights of all events, as already done in 2009.

Frédéric Viger, Motors TV’s Head of Programming stated: When you look at the quality and depth of the grid, it is no surprise that the International GT Open has gained such a strong following among Motors TV viewers”.

Jesús Pareja, CEO of GT Sport, commented: “We are delighted to see Motors TV stepping up its coverage of the series and support our efforts to bring exciting GT racing to many more fans around the continent”.

Motors TV, the “high speed television”, was created in 2000 and broadcasts in six languages to 59 countries and over 50 million people subscribing by satellite, cable and ADSL.

  2. ALMS has 2 races live on Motors (Sebring and Petit) rest in recap. Like 2009.

LMS will be on Eurosport again in same format as last year.

  3. LMS coverage last year was really funny, wake up Peter and ACO and bring the TV rights again to MotorsTV, between 2004 and 2008 we enjoyed full live, while with Euro$port it was a joke

  4. Eurosport sounds like FOX version of SPEED channel… compared to Speedvision (old speed channel)

  5. The race was showed fully, if you have access to Eurosport 2. They just don’t show the whole race on the main channel because there are other sports that need to be broadcasted too.

  6. I miss Speedvision here in the U.S. they showed EVERYTHING. Untell Na$car took over. There is way to much Na$car on SPEED. They always show them useless Nascrap shows during the week.

No lie, I turn on SPEED about 3 weeks ago. And they were showing tractor pulling… wtf!

  7. At least it was something other than lifestyle shows and NA$CAR related nonsense…

I caught some GT Open events last year via torrent. The racing is good, somewhat confusing as you’re not quite sure which cars are the open class and which ones are the lower class.

But overall it works and its competitive and that’s because there is largely no difference in the top teams, top drivers and top cars. NASCAR believes it has close racing. Looking at GT2 world-wide I would beg to differ.

  8. Yeah it will take you atleast 1-3 races before you can look at a GT car and tell if its GT1, GT2, or GT3. Same goes for LMP cars, but usually LMP2 cars are all open cockpit and long body.

Once you start recognizing teams and what class they race in it gets very fun to watch…
