Following a successful weekend at Silverstone, UK, teams entering Lamborghini race cars in the FIA GT1 World Championship and FIA GT3 European Championship will travel to Brno in the Czech Republic for the next race weekend on 21-23 May 2010.
Lamborghini secured two podium finishes during the Silverstone race weekend, with Reiter Engineering’s #25 Lamborghini Murcielago 670 R-SV driven by Jos Menten and Frank Kechele claiming a GT1 third-place finish, while Argo Racing’s #25 Lamborghini Gallardo piloted by Philip Geipel and Ellen Lohr finished third in round one of the FIA GT3 European Championship.
At the Czech circuit Reiter Engineering will again field two Lamborghini Murcielago 670 R-SV race cars in the FIA GT1 World Championship. Making its way to the grid will be the #25 driven by German driver Kechele and his new team-mate Slovakian Jan Danis. Second car, the #24, will again be piloted by German Christopher Haase and Dutch driver Peter Kox, who secured victory in a Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560-4 at round one of the ADAC GT Masters in Sachsenring, Germany, last weekend.
Meanwhile All-Inkl.com Münnich Motorsport will enter two Lamborghini Murcielago 670 R-SV cars. Its #38 entry will be driven by Dominik Schwager and Nicky Pastorelli, while Christophe Bouchut and Marc Basseng will get behind the wheel of its #37 entry.
“The Czech track is very much up and down with tight turns, so understeer can be a problem for many,” said Reiter Engineering’s Team Principal Hans Reiter. “We have done well at Brno before and have strong drivers that have proven what they can do on the race track. We will also welcome Jan Danis, who has driven at the circuit many times, so his local knowledge will be of benefit.”
The Czech rounds of the FIA GT3 European Championship will also be contested, where Argo Racing will field its #24 and #25 Lamborghini Gallardo race cars. Rounds four, five and six of Lamborghini’s one-make four-wheel drive series, the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo, will also take place alongside these esteemed championships.
