The race in Budapest started in the best possible way for AF corse: apart from the pole position, the team managed to reach the second and fourth position. Cars started the race without problems and Alesi, Fisichella and Vilander reached the leading position. Just after them Alvaro Barba and Alvaro Parente, while the Argentinean crew keep their starting position without any difficulties.
Alesi, Fisichella and Vilander maintained their leading position for more than two hours. Everything was perfect: drivers managed their first place without any troubles thanks to the Ferrari F430 which showed to be fast and Michelin tyres, reliable in every racing situation.
Then, unluckily, a technical problem during the pit stop put off the box exit of Alesi, Fisichella and Vilander’s car, which came back on track
in fourth position. The drivers tried the recovery but the narrow and winding track did not allow them to recovery.
After 1000 km they came in fourth to the chequered flag, while Alvaro Barba and Alvaro Parente fifth: two beginners drivers in ELMS championship who had a brilliant performance. Luis Perez Companc and Mattias Russo came in eighth at the finishing line, having a brilliant race: they only suffered for the traffic on track, but they managed in any case to keep good timing.
