Beechdean Mansell Rev Up for Silverstone Finale

Following their first LMP1 win in Hungary last month, the Buckinghamshire based Beechdean Mansell Motorsport team are looking forward to competing in the season finale of the 2010 Le Mans Series on their home circuit at Silverstone on 11/12 September. The event also marks the return to the cockpit of Nigel Mansell, who will drive in the 6-hour race alongside sons Leo and Greg for the first time since his high speed crash at Le Mans in June.

The race in Hungary has been the highpoint of the debut season for this brand new team that was only formed in January but victory for Leo and Greg at the Hungaroring, the circuit where Nigel Mansell clinched the 1992 Formula One World Championship, was a great reward for the whole team.

Nigel Mansell: “I’m happy to be racing at Silverstone, especially as it will be in front of the most passionate racing fans in the world. Leo and Greg did a fantastic job in Hungary and they are now LMS winners, which is a great achievement in such a short space of time. Beechdean Mansell Motorsport have come along way this season but we still have a lot of work to do. Incredibly we have achieved all of this without a major sponsor and I know we can do so much more if we could secure the necessary financial backing.”

Andrew Howard, Team Principal, said: “Hungary was a great event for us and proved that with hard work we can provide the drivers with a strong, reliable car that is capable of winning races. You have to remember Hungary was only our third international race and 2010 has been a massive learning curve, but we have a strong team of great people all working together and we know we can do a good job in front of the home crowd at Silverstone. It’s great to have Nigel back in the car alongside Leo and Greg and I know he’ll be looking forward to racing at the home of British motorsport. We are currently searching for a title sponsor for the 2011 season and we have a proven package and a great platform for a major company to become the teams partner next year.”

To celebrate their home race, and the return of Nigel Mansell to racing duties, the Beechdean Mansell team have two special offerings for Silverstone. The first is a corporate hospitality package that puts guests at the heart of the Beechdean Mansell Motorsport team for race day. Not only will they receive hospitality, garage tours and merchandise, they will also get exclusive access to the team and drivers during the most important weekend of the season. There are a few places remaining and at £250 per person represents extremely good value for money. For more information contact Liz Charleston at liz@beechdean.co.uk or visit www.beechdean.co.uk

Beechdean Mansell Motorsport are offering motorsport fans the chance to win an exclusive signed canvas print of Nigel Mansell driving the Beechdean Mansell Ginetta Zytek GZ09S. The print, which measures 91.5cm x 122cm (3’x4’) and is number 002 of a limited run of just 30 prints, will be signed by Nigel, Leo and Greg Mansell. To win this impressive piece of automotive artwork and motorsport history simply purchase Beechdean Mansell Motorsport merchandise to the value of £25 or more online, or at Silverstone during the LMS event, to receive an entry into the prize draw to win the picture.

The Beechdean Mansell Motorsport Ginetta Zytek GZ09S will be on track on Friday 10 September for the two 60-minute Free Practice sessions, with qualifying on Saturday at 13:40 and the race begins at 11:55 on Sunday 12 September.
