KSM, the LMP2 team from Siegburg, Germany, have finalized their preparation for the closing round of the 2010 Le Mans Series and are on their way to Silverstone.
The Silverstone Circuit has been a regular fixture of the Le Mans Series calendar since the series was started in 2004; it was only in 2006 that the British LMS round was held at Donnington instead. At present the facilities are being upgraded: a new pit complex is scheduled to be completed for the next season. Its mixture of extremely quick corners and some good spots for overtaking manoeuvres make it a very popular track among drivers. Alongside the LMS round in Spa Francorchamps, this round in Silverstone will have one of the finest grids of this season: giants Audi and Peugeot fighting again for overall victory.
In its debut season in 2008, KSM left Silverstone with an 8th place. The team is very optimistic to show a good result this year. The competition for KSM will be very hard, altogether 12 cars are entered in the LMP2 class.
The driver squad will consist of KSM Regulars Jean de Pourtales and Jonathan Kennard, new behind the wheel of the Lola will be Lucas Ordonez. The Spanish driver started his career in 1996 in karting, raced successfully in the Spanish Formula Toyota, and in 2008 he was the winner of the
Nissan GT Academy. In 2009 he finished the 24h of Dubai with his teammates Johnny Herbert, Alex Buncombe and Rob Barff. Silverstone will be his first ever start in the Le Mans Series.
Hardy Schiller: “After we had to waive the races in Portugal and Hungary we are more than happy to race again. Our Lola Judd has been well prepared in the last weeks in our workshop in Siegburg and is in perfect condition now. The competition will be hard but I’m very optimistic that we will score a good result.”
