It’s SAM Hancock. Not Simon.
Also I suspect ‘Guess Racing Europ’ lacks an “e” at the end.
And the AF Corse LMP2? ILMC or….. ?
This is a very nice list considering at select races like Spa and Silverstone we will see additional entries for the Le Man Cup. I think the split between GT PRO and GT AM was still a bad decision though. Should of kept GT a general GT2 class.
No plans for Spyker it seems.. Thats a shame.
Don’t count out seeing spyker competing in the Le mans series this year
Disappointed to see only 3 GT manufacturers, but lMP2 looks like the best sportscar class I can remember for any full season sportscar series entry list.
Disappointing to see no 2011 spec LMP1s
What do you mean no 2011 spec P1 cars…rebellion, quifel. They’ve had updates to make their cars ready.
Besides, a 2010 spec P2 is by definition a 2011 spec P1 so quifel is fully complying.
You sure about Rebellion, i heard they were just changing engine and using old chassis, so it prob wont have shark fin so it’d have to be 2010 spec. But yeah, I didn’t notice quifel was using old LMP2 car. Besides, no actual NEW cars in LMP1 BUILT for 2011 spec LMP1 anyway.
*I thought quifel was using same 2010 spec LMP1 as Mansel used last year, but I’m probably wrong.
Well, rebellion’s cars are 2010 P1 cars, with smaller engines.
Silverstone, imola and spa will be crucial races for Pescarolo. Because Oak will be at those races with their pescarolos, last year’s P2 cars and engines, but of course running in P1. It will be interesting to gauge the performances of the cars.
Does AF Corse want to run a Ferrari engine in there LMP2 car?
Why wouldn’t Rebellion run the 2011 Lola aero upgrades? They have the budget. Also, why is Tomlinson and LNT running a Radical when he OWNS Ginetta/Zytek?
Ginetta and Zytek are no longer one company.
Zytek runs the former Ginetta-Zytek cars as Zytek now, while Ginetta is looking at building a new LMP car in the future. So this is just a ‘warming-up’.
Please Clarify!! Did Tomlinson sell Ginetta or Zytek?
Tomlinson is still in control of Ginetta. A lot of boardroom reshuffling went on at Zytek last year, which resulted in the company being in administration for a short time at the end of 2010. Everything is resolved now, but Laurence Tomlinson is no longer involved with Zytek in any way
He got rid of Zytek I believe.
The third car AF corse has always ran is not a factory entry for ferrari, so it doesn’t need to have a ferrari engine.
That is AF Corse’s personal side business, just like Tracy Krohn pays a huge amount to Risi to prep and run a ferrari for him.
Luis Perez-companc just happens to be the son of the richest man in argentina (billionaire), and he fell in love with LeMans type racing when the LMS visited argentina in 2007. So he ditched rally for sportscars.
Unlike most gentleman drivers though, he’s an accomplished racer, but like every gentleman driver, he’s also always flanked by his thoroughbred sidekick (matias russo).
The munchi’s sponsorship on the car is one of their many businesses.
Like for example munchi’s is an official wrc rally team that villagra drives for
Well Luis Perez Companc founded the rally team and he used to race for it until switching to sports cars.
So it’s only natural that his family business’ name be used in the naming rights. After all it’s advertising.
Yea and with advertising in racing it brings publicity for the driver and the company he or she sponsors
