FIA GT1 world championship Zolder: Lamborghini dominating the weekend

All-inkl.com Münnich Motorsport also wins the championship race on Sunday with Marc Basseng and Markus Winkelhock in Belgium. Lamborghini drivers on top of standings.

Marc Basseng and Markus Winkelhock secured a sovereign lights-to-flag victory in their Lamborghini Murcielago 670 SV-R on Sunday at Zolder. Marc Basseng drove the start and kept himself ahead of his competitors through constantly fast lap times. Markus Winkelhock took over the second half of the race and enlarged his lead to over 9 seconds, which the former DTM champion kept to the finish. Thereby the Lamborghini drivers now overtook the lead in the drivers standings of the FIA GT1 world championship before the next race in Portimao (P).

The weekend also was successful for the second Reiter Engineering customers team Swiss Racing. Peter Kox and Karl Wendlinger completed a perfect and fast race in the Lamborghini Murcielago. Just in the last round Peter Kox was able to overtake his competitor, which made them win position 4 for Kox/ Wendlinger.
