Dutchman Jan Lammers is set to make his return to the Circuit de la Sarthe and to make his 22nd appearance in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in June. The former Le Mans winner has been confirmed by Hope Racing as one of their drivers for the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the upcoming 1000 KM of Spa-Francorchamps.
Lammers will drive the team’s Oreca – SwissHyTech Hybrid, the only hybrid car that is on the entry list for this year, with Steve Zacchia at Spa and Le Mans. The third driver is yet to be announced, although Nicolas Marroc drove the LMP1 car at the Le Mans Test Day last weekend. The Dutchman is very happy with the opportunity to race at Le Mans again. “I’m obviously very excited to take part in my 22nd 24 Hours of Le Mans”, said Lammers. “My very dear friend, Fredy A. Lienhard put me in contact with Benoit Morand and Hope Racing. The fact that it is a hybrid particularly impressed me is the opportunity to add a rich experience in my CV. ”
He is also happy to return to the Spa-Francorchamps circuit in the cockpit of an LMP1 car. “To prepare for Le Mans on the beautiful track of Spa gives me even more eager to start working with my new team, who are, like me, very motivated.”
