JR Motorsports lock out HTTT front row

JR Motorsports locked out the front row in the qualifying session at Paul Ricard. The two Nissan GT-Rs were quickest in the final part of qualifying.

In Q1 it was Richard Westbrook who posted his fastest lap time early in the session, with most of the other cars waiting in their boxes. Soon after the Nissan driver had gone in the rest started to put in laptimes and soon it was Mücke in first place. Just after the Young Driver AMR driver had returned to the pit his time was bettered by Mike Hezemans in the Corvette.

In the end it was Michael Krumm however who, taking advantage of an almost empty track, improved and clocked a 2:03.386.

The battle to get into Q3 heated up towards the end of the second session. Darren Turner, Andreas Zuber and Alex Müller were first, second and third and were all in the pit as the other cars went into their final flying lap. Dominik Schwager was the first to improve his lap time, getting the Lamborghini back into the top 8 and pushing Lucas Luhr out. But, with the two JR Motorsports cars still out on the track everything could still change. Peter Dumbreck improved and moved up into third, with Lucas Luhr also improving – despite briefly running into traffic. The German took eighth place at the expense of Maxime Martin.

Q3 saw Westbrook go fastest on his first flyer, followed by Mücke and Pastorelli. That would change on the next time by. Westbrook improved and set a 2:03.419, behind him it was teammate Michael Krumm and the two Young Driver AMR cars. Pastorelli dropped down to eighth.
Krumm did one final attempt to secure pole, but his last lap was no improvement.
