Greaves Motorsport are pleased to confirm that they will be running two 2012-spec Zytek chassis in next year’s Le Mans 24 Hours. In addition to the French Classic, the team will enter one of the chassis in the FIA World Endurance Championship and the other in the Le Mans Series.
After an exhaustive analysis of the chassis options available, Greaves Motorsport came to the conclusion that the optimum solution for the team’s objectives was to continue their partnership with Zytek. In the current year that has yielded a win in the LM P2 class at the Le Mans 24 Hours plus LM P2 Team and Drivers titles in the Le Mans Series.
The two new chassis will be powered by Nissan engines and will run on Dunlop tyres. The driver line up for each race programme will be revealed in the near future.
Team Manager, Jacob Greaves commented, “We spent a lot of time and effort in examining all the potential candidates but it soon became clear that continuing the partnership with Zytek was the best course of action, particularly in view of our programme for 2012. We have a lot of experience with the basic package and feel that Zytek will be best placed to optimise the effects of the proposed chassis and aerodynamic rule changes that have been mandated by the ACO. We are looking forward to going racing once again with Zytek in 2012.”
