Since it creation, Sébastien Loeb Racing has never their desire to take part in the 24 Hours of Le Mans a secret. The Alsacian team hopes to be at the start of the 2013 edition : an entry request has been made to the ACO. In a parellel effort, Sébastien Loeb Racing enter the European Le Mans Series with one ORECA 03.
Alonside its GT and French Porsche Carrera Cup programs, Sébastien Loeb Racing is looking to again enter into endurance racing as the team’s ambitions grow this season. « After getting our feet wet during the 24 Hours of Le Mans Test Day 2012, we want to take the next step » confirms Dominique Heintz, team manager. « Competing in the 24 Hours of Le Mans is an important goal and to be part of such a legendary race would be a dream come true. This logically comes from a participation in a Le Mans series : we chose the European Le Mans Series, an interesting platform that allows LM P2 cars to fight for the overall win. »
Sébastien Loeb Racing will rely on the ORECA 03 for its efforts, but details of the program are still in
progress. « We are still in search of partners to finalize this project and to make it successful » continues Dominique Heintz. « We’re ambitious and we want to do all we can to win. For this, we have to surround ourselves with the best. We hope that our efforts will attract people. To be on trac kat the 24 Hours of Le Mans, with a multi-time World Rally champion leading the team, would be unique. The idea of it is very exciting ! »
In addition to the ORECA 03 in endurance, Sébastien Loeb Racing will enter FIA GT Series with two McLaren MP4-12Cs – one for Sébastien Loeb and Alvaro Parente – and compete in the Porsche Carrera Cup France.
