Horst Felbermayr, managing partner of the Corporate Group with the same name, and the team Car Collection Motorsport around team manager Peter Schmidt go in 2016 common ways. One Audi R8 LMS will start with a Felbermayr branding in the VLN endurance championship, in the 24H Series and also at the ADAC Zurich 24H Nürburgring.

Peter Schmidt: “We are thrilled to be able to win Horst Felbermayr as Partner. The legendary blue car design is well known by the motorsport fans from Le Mans and various GT championships. We are very proud, to use the design through the European racetracks on our Audi R8 LMS.”

The company Felbermayr was founded in 1942 by the grandfather, Franz Felbermayr, with one truck. In the postwar years, the fleet already comprised 4 vehicles. In 1967 the company was acquired of Horst Felbermayr senior and Gisela Felbermayr. Over the decades, it grows for today’s enterprise group Felbermayr. The group now includes 26 subsidiaries, whose tasks are essentially focused on transport and lifting technology and civil engineering and building construction. With 71 locations in 17 countries, the Felbermayr Group is represented throughout Europe. Currently has the group around 2,800 professionals.

Horst Felbermayr is active in the company since 1999 and forwards together with a strong management team the company’s fortunes as a speaker since 2016.

Father and son Horst Felbermayr started together in various GT championships and in various endurance races since the late 90’s. Countless victories and podiums were retracted during the years. Then they stepped slightly shorter in motorsport and the Felbermayr car design disappeared from the racetrack. In 2016, it shines in new splendor on an Audi R8 LMS of the Rheingau team Car Collection Motorsport.

Horst Felbermayr: “After several years of reduced Motorsport and 2015, which was dedicated to the company mainly of family and generational change, I am really looking forward to sit behind the wheel of a GT car again. I know and appreciate the team around Peter Schmidt since 2014 because of several VLN races. I am convinced that we will see a great season with the new Audi R8 LMS and the proven team of Peter.”

The first use for the Felbermayr Audi R8 LMS is planned for the 12H Zandvoort. The line up for this race is determined not yet final, but it is forming around Horst Felbermayr, Peter Schmidt and an Audi Sport customer racing driver.
