About Planetlemans

Planetlemans is produced by a team of editors and photographers based in the Netherlands and linked to a series of media/editor partners around the world. The team is focused on Endurance and GT racing covering all major championships around the world. Clearly the Le Mans 24 Hours is the main event to which the team is committed but all rounds of the “Le Mans” labelled Endurance series around the world and the FIA-GT championship are featured prominently in our news coverage.

The vision

Planetlemans was born in 2002, approximately at the same time that the legendary Maison Blanche site was discontinued by Rick Wilson. The site quickly became one of the most popular Le Mans-related websites thanks to thorough and frequent coverage of the Endurance world. Daily news updates, high quality pictures, frontpage access to the popular ten-tenths forum and from-the-track reports compose the qualitative difference which Planetlemans is known for.

Publishing & frequency

On the main page of the site you’ll find the site’s most recent entry at the top followed by two main ‘columns’ beneath. The left hand column displays recent blog entries: these are short, reflective and informative pieces of writing updated twice weekly. The right hand column displays recent ‘featured articles’: these are more in-depth pieces that cover a wide array of performance-related topics and are published once every week.

The Planetlemans team of 2010

  • Marcel ten Caat - Marcel is the right contact when it comes to results, entry lists and drivers’ histories. He also knows his ways with a camera so his weekends do get busy, particularly when we cover live events. A true all-rounder, he is responsible for publishing, text and photography and does well at every one of those.
  • Milo Kol - Milo is a skilled reporter and has interviewed the top drivers of the Endurance scene as well as built an extensive contact network in the racing world.
  • Brecht Decancq - Brecht joined the Planetlemans team in 2009 and came back from the various circuits with stunning pictures. The Belgian is looking forward to another year of top level photography.
  • Frank Feenstra - A thorough photographer and a big GT fan, Frank is also responsible for technical aspects of the site. He was the one that motivated Planetlemans founder Sander van Dijk to attend Le Mans back in 2000 and see where it ended!
  • Gerlach Delissen - Crisp and vivid action photography is Gerlach’s signature. Outstanding images are the result of appropriate timing and passion for the final result. At Planetlemans Gerlach has also shown his interviewing and writing skills.
  • Vincent van Kempen - Vincent has been with Planetlemans since its start. Like the rest he is a real GT and sportscar fanatic and he has supplied Planetlemans with great pictures of various races in recent years.
