The final race of the 2008 Le Mans Series season takes place this weekend at the Silverstone Grand Prix circuit. Despite the Peugeot team taking the wins in the previous four rounds the championship is yet to be decided. Going into the final round it is the #7 Peugeot 908 of Marc Gene and Nicolas Minassian that leads the championship with 32 points, ahead of the #2 Audi R10 of Alexandre Prémat and Mike Rockenfeller who have 30 points.[…]

A true American racing legend passed away today. Phil Hill, a former Formula 1 world champion and three times Le Mans 24 Hours winner, died in a hospital in Salinas, California. Hill had Parkinson’s Disease and was taken to hospital after making a visit to the Rolex Monterey Historic Automobile Races.[…]

The penultimate round of the 2008 Classic Endurance Racing series took place at the Nürburgring, supporting the ‘ADAC 1000KM Rennen’. 41 cars started the weekend, with several new additions in the field.
