Dyson on top after first practice at Detroit
A wet circuit (which gradually dried afterwards) provided a very mixed practice session at the Belle Isle circuit in Detroit. A few cars did not turn any laps and everyone was very careful as the weekend is only starting…Qualifying will start at 4:35 PM local time.

Bucharest FIA-GT City Challenge (updated)
The second running of the Bucharest City Challenge took the FIA GT Championship for an exciting ride around the imposing Romanian Parliamentary buildings. With closely-fought and exciting races on the fast and challenging street circuit, the one-hour race format proved to be a real bonus, not only for the delighted crowds who lined the streets, but for the drivers, who had to cope with the sweltering summer temperatures. GT1 victory went to Phoenix Carsport’s Swiss duo of Fässler and Deletraz, in their Corvette C6R, while CR Scuderia claimed the GT2 victory with Kirkaldy and Bell, in the Ferrari 430 GT2.
Mosport qualifying, Audi on top
Dindo Capello in one of the Audi R10 TDIs captured pole today at Mosport with a 1:04.094 lap that literally obliterated last year’s pole time. Marco Werner was second on the other Audi less than 1/10th away from the Italian’s time showing that the Ingolstadt team will be the ones to beat at the beautiful Canadian circuit on Sunday.
Phoenix Racing and CR Scuderia deal first blow at Bucharest
The first-ever one-hour race in the history of the FIA GT Championship was a close and exciting battle around the Bucharest streets. And the win, after a close battle with their team-mates, went to Swiss drivers Deletraz and Fässler in their Phoenix Carsport Corvette, who crossed the line 0.6 seconds ahead of the nr 6 Corvette of Gollin and Hezemans. Bartels and Bertolini, in the nr 1 Maserati MC 12, were pleased with third, achieved despite the 80 kg penalty weight they carried after Spa. Deletraz and Fässler, who led from pole, claimed a half allocation of points as well as the honour of starting tomorrow’s Championship race from pole position, alongside their team-mates Gollin and Hezemans.

Classic Endurance Racing - Nürburgring Report
The penultimate round of the 2008 Classic Endurance Racing series took place at the Nürburgring, supporting the ‘ADAC 1000KM Rennen’. 41 cars started the weekend, with several new additions in the field. Eventually 37 cars were seen in the race. One of the highlights was the Porsche 908 that was entered for Sascha Maassen.[…]

This time we saw a Nürburgring circuit very much focussed on construction works which did not have any negative influence on the 1000km race nevertheless.
